Our 35-year-old registered Gelbvieh and Balancer operation focuses on a large selection of progeny and rigorous genetic selection to offer 150 bulls and 80 females in our annual production sale. Additionally, 20 to 25 private treaty bulls are marketed yearly. We prioritize eye appeal, strong EPDs, top 30% birth weight, and calving ease. All selling bulls have genomic-enhanced EPDs and are sire-verified. Our large, meaningful contemporary groups and in-herd ratios are critical, and we collect ultrasound data on all bulls to prioritize carcass EPDs. However, we do not collect ultrasound data on females as they are developed on a grain-free diet of ammoniated wheat straw, sorghum silage, alfalfa hay, and distillers.
